Cognitive psychology is the study of mental processes such as perception, problem-solving, language, and memory, with a focus on how we process and interpret information.

This module provides in-depth information on core areas of cognitive psychology, e.g. auditory and visual sensory processing, attention, memory, problem solving, and learning strategies.

This module delivers core knowledge about how to design and interpret studies of behaviour and attitudes in Psychology.

Explores the core theories and principles of individual differences and psychopathology, examining psychological traits, intelligence, and personality.

It covers psychopathology's history, theories, assessment methods, and diagnoses, including mood disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

This module covers a variety of statistical techniques based on correlation and regression, to be used in the analysis of research data.

The Polar regions are rich in natural resources and linked strongly into the global climate system such that what happens in the Polar regions affects us all.

However, the Arctic and Antarctic regions are changing very rapidly in response to climate change, with far-reaching implications now and into the future.

It also explores the latest research on how this process can be disrupted in developmental dyslexia using evidence from biological, cognitive, and behavioural approaches.

Metacognition represents the ability to reflect on and evaluate our knowledge, experiences, and behaviours. Metacognitive insight modulates learning, adaptive decision-making, error monitoring, and exploration behaviour.

This module explores current knowledge on neurotypical metacognitive processes, and metacognitive deficits associated with a range of neuropsychiatric symptoms and disorders.

Self-regulation refers to a range of psychological processes that allow us to change our thoughts, behaviours, and emotions in favour of our longer-term goals.

In this module, you will explore theoretical and applied aspects of self-regulation as they relate to everyday health, success, and wellbeing.
