You will learn the basis of research design and the key research methods used by both human geographers and other social scientists.
You will work through a mixture of lectures, tutorial, and other online activities. The main emphasis of the module is a group-based project which you will conduct over the semester.
You will get an understanding of the context in which different research methods are used. You will gain hands-on experience using these methods. You will also develop skills in analysing, interpreting, and presenting data.
What you will learn
In this module, you will:
- learn how to undertake a well-designed and well-conducted research project in human geography
- be introduced to the key methodological approaches and techniques in human geography
