Global internships

Many of our programmes include the option of a global internship as part of the programme. Internships are a key part of these programmes. They give you the chance to gain real work experience while you finish your degree.

Employers overwhelmingly believe graduates who have an internship experience are more employable due to your increased experience of the workings of international companies and organisations.

Our internships are overseas in a variety of countries like China, Vietnam, and Thailand. Or, you can do them from home. Our partner Pagoda Projects will organise your internship. It is mostly funded by the school. In most cases, you just have to cover your living costs. But, in some cases, you may also have to cover travel and/or accommodation.

While on your internship you will be in close contact with an English speaking tutor for ongoing support and as a 24-hour emergency contact. The community of students on internships is also closely connected through Facebook and Skype, allowing you to connect with them and share your stories.

Applications for internships happen towards the end of the first semester of your programme. Internships are awarded based on merit. This includes your academic performance, a short personal statement, and maybe an interview.

Unfortunately, some passport holders may not be eligible. But, we will work with you to offer alternatives during your time in Dundee.
