Internships for postgraduate business students

Applications open towards the end of the first semester. Internships are awarded based on merit, considering academic performance, a personal statement, and an interview.

Students who do not participate in an internship can still gain valuable skills through alternative employability experiences, such as consultancy projects or research-based projects.

Approximately 25% of students in the above programs are offered internships, but all students have access to employability opportunities. These may include skills workshops, mentorship programs, employer visits, networking events, and masterclasses.

Visa restrictions may limit global internship opportunities for some students, but all students can participate in an alternative pathway to develop valuable skills.

Employers highly value internship or relevant work experience, recognising it demonstrates an understanding of international business environments. We provide support with applications, interviews, and effectively communicating your experiences to future employers.

All postgraduate business students at the University of Dundee are enrolled in a free, optional pre-entry program called "Your UK Career Journey." This interactive online series covers UK recruitment methods, CV writing, transferable skills, interviews, and introduces you to dedicated Careers Advisers.

Students receive comprehensive support throughout their internship journey. Regardless of the chosen pathway (internship, consultancy, or research project), we offer Masters Project Workshops to help you develop certified skills valuable for completing your Masters Project and advancing your career.
