Teaching and assessment for Geography and Planning MA (Hons)
Teaching
The course is taught through lectures, seminars, and workshops.
This course takes place over four levels, each based on a different theme:
- Level 1 - understanding places and change
- Level 2 - managing place and change
- Level 3 - implementation and application
- Level 4 - critical thinking and professionalism
Assessment
Assessments vary in type and weighting from module to module.
Methods of assessment include:
- essays
- written individual and group reports
- Sketch book
- individual and team oral presentations
- written exams
In Level 4 you will apply the skills and knowledge you have learned in a dissertation.
The mix of exams and coursework types varies from module to module. You will be expected to complete many coursework assignments individually, but some assignments will be based on you working in small groups with other students.
