Support for staff
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Office
Providing information on legislation, training, guidance on mainstreaming equality, diversity and inclusion and day to day support for Schools and Directorates. They provide regular progress reports to the University Equality and Diversity Committee and the University Executive Group.
The Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion deals with any bullying and harassment issues related to the protected characteristics.

People Support team
The People Support team provide day to day advice to staff and managers on employment matters, including flexible working, absence, bullying and harassment and disability related absence.
Athena SWAN
The University have participated in Athena SWAN for a number of years now and currently holds a Bronze Award. Promoting the value of women in the University and society is a key element of our equality commitments.
Chaplaincy
The Chaplaincy provides a welcome space on the University campus for both students and staff from all faith groups or none. It is a multi-cultural and supportive environment, where you can participate in some of the events they host, or simply meets friends for a coffee.
Unions
The University has three official staff representative bodies, UNISON, UNITE and UCU, all of whom provide advice relating to equality, diversity and inclusion. For more information on their services, visit their web pages.
