Support for staff
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team
Provides information on legislation and training, guidance on mainstreaming equality, diversity and inclusion, and day to day support for Schools and Directorates. They provide regular progress reports to the University EDI Committee and the University Executive Group.
The Deputy Director EDI deals with any bullying and harassment issues related to the protected characteristics.

People Support team
The People Support team provide day to day advice to staff and managers on employment matters, including flexible working, absence, bullying and harassment and disability related absence.
Athena SWAN
Athena Swan is a charter that recognises and celebrates good practice towards the advancement of gender equality. We have been involved in the Athena Swan Charter Mark programme for many years and the University and several of our Schools hold Awards.
Chaplaincy
The Chaplaincy provides a welcome space on the University campus for both students and staff from all faith groups or none. It is a multi-cultural and supportive environment, where you can participate in some of the events they host, or simply meets friends for a coffee.
Unions
The University has three official staff representative bodies, UNISON, UNITE and UCU. Eligibility for membership of each union is dependant on your job / job category and not any other characteristic. Each union provides advice relating to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Early Dispute Resolution
Our Early Dispute Resolution team will help you to anticipate, avoid, prevent, and resolve disputes.
Counselling
Counselling provides a safe space for you to talk about your issues or concerns. We have a team of counsellors with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience, and our sessions are free.
