Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within Life Sciences

Responsible for ensuring a coordinated approach to all our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) activities and driving forward actions in support of enhancing our diversity and inclusion.

The SLS-wide Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee is formed from volunteers plus former Athena Swan committee members to cover all aspects of diversity and inclusion. ​

The overall aim of the committee will be to create an inclusive, supportive, diverse community where everyone feels able to contribute to the best of their ability. They hope to achieve this by:​

  • seeking out and engaging with all in our community​
  • identifying challenges​
  • implementing positive change ​
  • increasing EDI engagement through effective communication​
