Every staff member should discuss with their line manager or supervisor(s) their learning and support needs.

Pensions

The University of Dundee has three pensions schemes which you may join, determined by your job category:

Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS)

  • for academic and academic-related staff

NHS Superannuation Scheme

  • for academic staff previously in the NHS Scheme

University of Dundee Superannuation Scheme (UoDSS)

  • for clerical, technical, and manual staff

If you satisfy certain criteria, you may be able to re-join/remain in the NHS Superannuation Scheme instead of joining USS.

The University also offers a salary sacrifice scheme, Pensions Plus, for pension contributions made into the Universities Superannuation Scheme or the University of Dundee Superannuation Scheme.

Additional benefits

All staff can take advantage of a range of other benefits such as membership of our Institute of Sport & Exercise, make use of our extensive library facilities, cycle to work schemes and government’s tax-free childcare. Or perhaps take a visit to our Botanic Gardens near Dundee airport or the Ninewells Community Garden which lies in the beautiful arboretum of Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Both are free to visit, open 7 days a week – just remember your staff card for entry into the Botanic Gardens.
