For any aspiring global business leader, understanding international business strategy is essential, this module will help develop your skills in assessing strategic decisions made by international firms, and by using the analytical tools used by successful managers worldwide.

During this module you will meet other students from different courses that share common components. This module will prepare you to get the most out of your studies and further your career after graduation in the world of business.

You will be introduced to to strategic issues faced by firms operating in a global environment. It will help you understand and use various economic concepts of competition and incentives in organisations. Topics will cover outsourcing and production, identifying competitors, market concentration and implications of different market structures. 

You will use your knowledge and understanding of research and analytical skills, to study a topic relevant to your chosen programme of study e.g., international business, management, marketing, HR, economics, finance, accounting, Islamic finance. You will choose either a Pagoda internship, a consultancy project, or a literature-based search. 

Businesses that operate over many countries form a large part of our global economy. This module will introduce you to their structure, strategies and the impact they have on society.

Major trends in strategic management and management accounting are explained and evaluated in order to better understand management challenges.

A case study in the automotive industry will be used to exemplify how businesses adapt to their external environment by integrating the ‘three meshed gears’ of marketing, engineering, and finance.

You will develop your leadership and decision making skills by improving your understanding of the role, responsibilities and competencies of leadership, gain insight to the current theories and how to apply these skills in a business context.

Examine the macro and micro factors that affect and condition the development of an international marketing strategy. This module is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to make ethically and socially responsible marketing decisions in a global context.
