Life Sciences summer lab-based placements in Malaysia
Gain valuable skills while experiencing life in another country
Placements are a fantastic way to gain work experience and develop your skills. A placement abroad allows you to live and work in a different country and experience another culture.
Our summer placement programme with Taylor’s University, Malaysia is one such opportunity. Taylor’s University is ranked in the top 90 in Asia and is the number one private university in Malaysia and South East Asia.
Previous interns Zena and Eilidh share their experiences of their internship in Malaysia:
Successful applicants will spend 6 weeks, during the University summer vacation, in a laboratory in the School of Biosciences at Taylor’s.
A grant will be provided to successful applicants to help with living costs but you will need to cover accommodation and travel*. However, the cost of living in Malaysia is significantly cheaper than in Europe and is even lower than in Dundee.
(*Depending on your financial status, some funds may be available to help support travel costs)
Open to Level 2 and Level 3 University of Dundee Life Sciences students.
All Level 2 and Level 3 Life Sciences students receive an email advertising the opening of applications in the winter prior to the placements on offer. Placements are offered on a competitive basis, subject to a written application and subsequent successful interview. Project titles offered by Taylor’s cannot be guaranteed as other Universities participate in their summer placement scheme.
