Teaching

As most students will have prior experience of working in an AT environment, you will also choose appropriate elective modules which will complement your professional background. For example, as a teacher, you take modules focused on Human Computer Interaction, while as a technologist you may study inclusive education practise.

The course will be delivered by a blend of distance and on-campus learning as you may already be employed in education and social care organisations that provide services to disabled people.

You will attend two intensive weeks which will normally take place on campus in Dundee. Elective modules will be completed online or on campus throughout the academic year. Practical work and assignments will be undertaken within your work environment or on placement with support from course lecturers.

We would expect full time students to already live in, or be willing to move to the Dundee area for suitable placement opportunities to be arranged. Should you have a suggestion for a placement opportunity please include this in your personal statement within your application.

Assessment

All assessments will be carried out via coursework that will be submitted online. There is no exam requirement.

Most students will combine work-based practice with their academic learning. The course is designed to use work-based opportunities for practical assignments and project work. Students not in a work environment will have the opportunity to engage in placements - these will be arranged on an individual basis.
