The MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit (MRCPPU) is a major research centre in the School of Life Sciences which focuses on the understanding of the biological roles of phosphorylation and ubiquitylation and how disruption of these processes cause human diseases such as neurodegeneration, cancer, hypertension, and immune disorders.

The Dundee MRCPPU operates as a focal point between life scientists, pharmaceutical companies, and clinicians. The aim is to provide a deeper understanding of disease processes to ultimately develop new cures

We provide an exciting research environment and a unique research and training experience. The MRC Unit is committed to providing MRC Summer Studentships to undergraduate students sharing an enthusiasm for Biomedical Science.
