Seniors programme

If you are aged 60 years and over, we have fantastic opportunities for you.

Adults who regularly exercise have lower risk of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and some cancers. Exercise has a positive influence on self-esteem, mood, quality of sleep and energy levels and it reduces your risk of developing stress, depression, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Being active can also reduce loneliness and help you to maintain independence in later life.

Seniors can choose exercise from the both the Active Living timetable (mornings) and the Exercise timetable. We also offer an extended programme of social physical activity including sport, social cycling, activity taster sessions and coach led strength training.

Our Seniors membership packages are open to anyone over 60 who does not have any pre-existing long-term medical condition. This membership will give you access to more choices of sport and exercise including our exercise programmes, pool, and new gym. For more information, visit our membership page

Active Living programme

Exercise can help people to manage a wide range of chronic conditions and live a more independent and active lifestyle. The Active Living programme provides a huge number of activity opportunities to help you to maintain quality of life. It is designed to suit those with pre-existing conditions. In recent years, we were proud to have the biggest single site exercise offer for those living with chronic conditions across Scotland.

Active Living members can choose a range of exercise classes from the Active Living timetable including chair yoga, aqua exercise, circuit, and studio strength. We also offer an extended programme of fun activities including sport, social cycling, taster sessions and coach led strength training.

Our Active Living membership exists for those participants who manage long term health conditions. Members must complete a health questionnaire prior to any physical activity. For more information, please visit reception and speak to a member of staff.
