Teaching

You will learn through a range of teaching methods, including:

  • lectures
  • seminars
  • tutorials
  • discussion groups
  • journal clubs
  • self-directed study
  • supervised laboratory work.

Teaching takes place in Ninewells Hospital, within the School of Medicine. This includes practical work in course-specific teaching labs. You'll also attend the Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) labs and clinics in the hospital.

Assessment

You will be assessed through a mix of coursework and examination, including:

  • essays
  • short answer questions
  • multiple choice questions
  • lab reports
  • presentations
  • written thesis

Core Modules

These modules are an essential part of your course.

Module code: GM50043 Credits: 20 Semester: Both Semester 1 and 2

This module introduces you to the terminology and concepts of basic statistics. It also teaches you how to apply and interpret the results.

You'll learn statistical procedures for use with routine observational data using R studio. You'll develop skills in understanding statistical issues in clinical trials.
