This module gives you a broad understanding of research methodologies. It also introduces you to essential skills for career development.

You'll develop a deep understanding of principles and techniques for research methods. You'll also learn how to apply them in the real world.

What you will learn

In this module you will learn about:

  • performing a literature search and evaluating published manuscripts
  • experimental design
  • formulating scientific questions
  • evaluating data and presenting scientific findings
  • ethical considerations and the procedures for obtaining ethical approval
  • scientific communication in various formats, tailored to diverse audiences
  • the process for scientific publishing, including referencing and indexing
  • the job applications process
  • drafting an effective cover letter and CV
  • preparing for a job interview.

By the end of this module you will be able to:
