This module focuses on research in reproductive medicine. To work in this fast moving field, it's important you're able to analyse relevant research and apply it to your practice.
In this module you will plan, carry out and complete a research project. You'll choose a research topic relevant to clinical embryology and assisted conception.
You'll by supervised by experienced and well-established researchers. Weekly project updates will help to showcase your progression.
This will help you build on the knowledge and skills you've acquired in previous modules.
What you will learn
In this module, you will learn about:
- reviewing and appraising the literature relevant to your project
- creating research questions
- developing your lab skills
- data acquisition and analysis
- writing and presentation skills
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- design and carry out a project addressing an important question in reproductive medicine
- show your understanding of key concepts, theories and methods relevant to your research
- review current literature on the research area
- apply appropriate research methods, including regulatory and ethical requirements
- collect, analyse and interpret data
- present your findings using a written report and presentation
- work on your own and collaborate with others
- be adaptable and adopt a professional conduct in a research setting.
Assignments / assessment
- thesis / research paper (80%)
- poster presentation (20%)
