Professional Doctorates give you the opportunity to professionally develop and support you via tailored online learning programmes. Our Professional Doctorate Programme is designed for those in a career who want to develop their leadership potential and undertake original research that contributes to professional practice in their field. Masters by Research

A Masters by Research degree is a Masters-level qualification based around an independent research project rather than lecture attendance and examinations.

The Masters by Research takes one year full-time or two years part-time, which makes it a great option if you are interested in a PhD but want a taste of academic research before committing, or if you would like to develop an advanced level of knowledge in your area and learn key techniques to enhance your career.

We currently have the following Masters by Research options:

Developing your own research proposal

We welcome enquiries from prospective postgraduate researchers who are developing their own research proposal. Before you apply, you are strongly advised to explore our research areas thoroughly and to approach your potential supervisor(s) to discuss your plans - you will only be able to undertake a research degree with us if we can offer appropriate supervision.
