We offer academic English tuition to international students, running a variety of language courses throughout the academic year to help you get the most out of your studies
Pre-sessional courses
If you have not yet met the English entry requirements for a degree course at the University, we offer summer and autumn pre-sessional programmes.

In-sessional courses
English Language Support Programme
We offer workshops throughout to help you develop your English language and academic skills.
They will help you gain confidence in communicating your ideas. You will learn to hone your writing and speaking clearly and effectively.
In EIS workshops, you will learn with experienced, qualified teachers. You will also have the opportunity to meet other students and develop your academic communication skills.
While you don't have to attend all workshops, you can choose those that are most relevant to your needs.
All EIS workshops are free.

English Language Support Programme
On some courses, you will have the option of enrolling on discipline-specific language modules.
These tailored English support modules are offered in:
- School of Business
- Education and Society
- Dundee Law School
- Psychology
- School of Science and Engineering
- School of Health Sciences
These are credit-bearing modules that will appear on your degree transcript.
If this option is available for your course, you will receive information about it during your induction at the start of the semester.
Language Clinic
English Language Clinic offers online or drop-in appointments to support international students who have questions about anything to do with Academic English including the structure of coursework, exam preparation, presentations, or just need some general language advice. We do not offer a proof-reading service.
