Sports and societies
One of the best ways to get involved in student life and make lifelong friends is to join societies and sports clubs where you'll meet people with shared interests.
Clubs and societies
DUSA hosts a broad range of student-led clubs and societies, so you can pursue your interests and make new friends.
Ever wanted to try performing on stage? What about getting involved with charity work and making a difference? With our broad range of societies, you can keep up with a current hobby, join a group related to your studies, or try something completely different.
We also have over 40 sports clubs hosted by the Sports Union. Whatever your aspirations or experience in sport we have something for everyone and our clubs are inclusive and progressive.
Even if you don't want to join a club, you can still take part in sport through other events such as Varsity, where we go head-to-head with Abertay University to compete in various sports.
On campus you'll find our Institute of Sport and Exercise. The large state-of-the-art gym hosts a variety of features, including:
- a range of strength and cardiovascular equipment, such as Peloton bikes, dumbbell racks, stair climbers, and strength cages
- two exercise studios for all your favourite classes
- three glass-backed, competition standard squash courts
- a specialist strength training area
- Wattbike training zone
- virtual cycling studio
- two large indoor sports halls, where you can take part in a huge range of sports
The heated 25m swimming pool with sauna accommodates lane swimming, courses, and our aquatic clubs. Four floodlit all-weather tennis courts are also located at the heart of campus.
Our Riverside playing fields are a short walk from campus and offer floodlit all-weather artificial football and hockey pitches, alongside several grass pitches and two rugby pitches.
If you are interested in learning more about our city and campus, book in on one of our main open days or regular campus tours.
