Economics of Globalisation module (BU40016)
The module is designed to provide an in-depth examination of
- the determinants of the pattern of international trade specialisation as is observable in the real world and
- trade policy and the welfare effects of trade restrictions for an individual country, regional grouping and the world as a whole.
The theoretical aspects will be complemented with a close inspection of some topical issues, such as labour standards and the quest for "fair trade" and the role of multinational corporations in the global economy.
