These modules support students as they prepare for their postgraduate studies, extending and developing existing language and academic study skills.

The aim of the module is to develop knowledge and understanding of how to conduct an informed literature search, and how to produce a concise description and succinct analysis of literature relevant to professional practice and / or advanced academic study in Psychology.

The aim of the module is to introduce students to social research methods of direct relevance to their professional practice or further academic study in Psychology and familiarise them with standard research terminology. The module will cover qualitative, quantitative and evidence-based approaches to research.

This module provides the appropriate foundation in statistical knowledge and skills to enable students to be successful in the future studies at master’s level. The module offers a grounding in statistics with an emphasis on practical applications and extensive use of statistical packages.

The aim of this module is to allow students an opportunity to engage with the concept of reflective practice. It is recognised that professional knowledge includes inter and intrapersonal elements such as values, previous experiences, emotions and personal capabilities. This module will encourage students to reflect upon what they bring to their studies, personally and professionally, and locate this within a comparative context.
