    • These will consist of discussions based on reading for the module. The discussions will be student-led, though they will be facilitated by the lecturer

    • Guest lecturers may also visit, either within modules or as a separate event.

You will also be able to take part in an induction programme in legal research skills at the start of each semester. This ensures that you understand the UK and European legal systems. It will also mean that you can find and use all the resources that you will need.

We also offer a wide variety of external activities. This includes a residential study trip for all students.

Our Legal Research Skills module runs in two blocks at the start of each semester. This is assessed by:

  • a short essay (in the first block)
  • a group article and presentation (in the second block)

Module code: LW50107 Credits: 50 Semester: Semester 2

This module will help you conduct work on a master’s dissertation. This covers choosing a topic, defining a title, and using research assistance tools. It will conclude in writing the dissertation.

Optional Modules

You need to choose one or more of these modules as part of your course.

Module code: CP52007 Credits: 20 Semester: Semester 1

This module will provide you with a critical understanding and knowledge of the principal issues surrounding project financing in the energy, petroleum and mining (and infrastructure) projects.

You will learn about the necessary tools to understand how project finance can be used to fund investment in the mentioned industries.
