Mathematics & Mechanics module (PH22002)

This module will give you a deeper understanding of classical mechanics and the associated higher-level mathematics that underpins a wide range of honours-level modules. The module builds on and provides practical examples of the mathematics covered in semester one of level 2.  

Topics include: 

• Mathematics: partial differentiation, multiple integration, vector analysis, Fourier series, and differential equations. 

• Mechanics: Newton’s laws of motion, projectile motion subject to drag, momentum and angular momentum, energy, and simple harmonic motion.
