Teaching

Teaching will take place in the Dental School and Hospital which is on campus, at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and in local and regional dental clinics.

Teaching methods include:

  • lectures
  • tutorials
  • practical laboratory sessions
  • workshops
  • clinical skills classes

Our course is longer than normal University courses as the General Dental Council require a total of 102 weeks to be completed.

Assessment

You will be assessed throughout your course using:

  • online multiple choice formats
  • assessments of practical and clinical skills
  • coursework
  • reflective portfolio

The Oral Health Sciences BSc curriculum is subject to approval by the General Dental Council, a decision on approval will be made by the GDC following an inspection of the first cohort of students when they reach final year in 2021/22.
