Mentoring scheme for staff
Develop your professional skills by finding or becoming a mentor.
The University of Dundee’s Mentoring Scheme offers a structured opportunity for all staff to engage in career and personal development through mentoring. Whether you’re seeking guidance, building your skills, or supporting others, this initiative fosters mutual growth and learning.
Key highlights
- For All Staff: Open to staff at all stages of their career.
- Role Option: Sign up as both a mentor and mentee to enhance your professional development from multiple perspectives.
- Focus Areas: Participants select their development focus, including leadership, teaching, research, communication, and more.
How it works
- Mentee-Led: Mentees set goals and schedule meetings.
- Matching: Occurs 3 times a year (Autumn, New Year, and Spring).
- Flexible Format: Meetings are held every 6-8 weeks, typically lasting an hour.
- Commitment: Active participation and clear communication are key to success.
The previous Research and Academic Mentoring Scheme and the Professional Development Mentoring (PDM) Scheme closed on 25 July 2025. All staff are encouraged to sign up for the new unified Mentoring Scheme.
