Biography
Renzo Cordina is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance within the Accounting & Finance Discipline at the University of Dundee School of Business, where he has been a member of academic staff since 2014. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Malta, a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance (with Distinction), and a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Strathclyde. Prior to embarking on an academic career, he completed an internship with KPMG.
Renzo's research interests lie at the intersection of accounting, finance, entrepreneurship and business history. His work has examined venture capital and private equity, innovation and entrepreneurship, corporate governance, business valuation, performance measurement, and the governance and regulation of professional sport. He has also published research on the historical development of accounting ideas and institutions, with a particular interest in how accounting practices and concepts evolve over time.
His research has been published in leading international journals, including the British Accounting Review, R&D Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and Thunderbird International Business Review. His work employs a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate contemporary and historical issues in accounting and finance.
Alongside his teaching and research activities, Renzo contributes to academic leadership within the School through roles relating to assessment, education and student experience. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and a member of the Dundee CIMA Branch.
