EV22002
Aims
The module is designed to provide a substantial grounding in the principal areas of the broad discipline of Environmental Science. As such, the module is taught by staff from two different schools of the university, plus the James Hutton Institute, in ways which make the subject accessible to students from a wide range of backgrounds. A variety of classroom, laboratory and tutorial approaches are adopted to address general themes which will be the target of more advanced and detailed analysis later (Levels 3 and 4). The development of environmental comprehension, interdisciplinary awareness and analytical technique is aimed at providing students with skills which can serve them in the future, both within and outside the practice of Environmental Science.
