The Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science (LRCFS) offers opportunities for Research Masters and PhD projects.

Areas of research
We offer PhD/MRes opportunities in the following areas:
- Law and technology
- Transfer and persistence
- Statistics, probability and measurement uncertainty
- The application of AI and machine learning in forensic science
- Forensic Chemistry (Drugs, Toxicology, Fires and explosives)
- Forensic Science data management
- Science communication in forensic science
Location
- PhD and MRes opportunities can be in Dundee or remote
Timing
- PhD’s can be 3 or 4 years full time or 6 years part time
- Professional Doctorates are part-time, spanning four years
- MRes can be 1 year full time or 2 years part time.
Professional Doctorates involve a two-year taught phase with classes delivered remotely and two in-person teaching weeks each year in February and June and a two year research phase related to your current field of work.
