Services from NHS Tayside

The University's Health Service is not a replacement for NHS services.

NHS Tayside provides a range of services to Dundee and the surrounding area. If in doubt, call NHS 24 on 111 or visit NHS Inform.

Pharmacy

  • Cough, cold or sore throat
  • Indigestion, diarrhoea or constipation
  • Aches and pains
  • Emergency contraception
  • Emergency dispensing of medications

GP surgery

  • Sore throat & swollen glands
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Headache
  • Sexual health
  • Mental health conditions
  • Cuts and minor burns
  • Suspected broken bones
  • Sprains
  • A minor illness that cannot be treated at home

NHS 24 (call 111)

  • Outside of GP opening hours, weekend, or a public holiday
  • Need advice on a health concern
  • Cannot wait for other services to become available

Accident and emergency (call 999)

  • Life-Threatening/Emergency Situations
  • Serious illness or injury
  • Severe bleeding
  • Suspected heart attack or stroke
  • Severe breathing difficulties
