Bringing together over 20 artists and makers from across DJCAD's technical community, this inaugural exhibition showcases the diverse creative talents of the people who help bring the work of our students, staff and researchers to life.

Expect to see everything from tactile wooden spoons, knitted textiles and jewellery to miniature paintings, immersive video installation, astrophotography, nature-inspired bronze medals, screen printing, ceramics, furniture and more!

Visitors will also have the opportunity, to be among the first to experience The Monifieth Crescent, a newly commissioned bronze sculpture by our Foundry Technician, Roddy Mathieson. This impressive, large-scale recreation of the lost Pictish artefact has been funded by VACMA Dundee, and we're delighted to announce its public debut at Technicians Show 2026.

The exhibition takes place in the public facing level 1 and level 2 galleries in the Matthew Building and we invite staff, students and members of the public to explore the exhibition and discover the artists and makers behind our technical workforce.

Join us at Canvas on Monday 7 December, from 18:00 until late, for an evening of PechaKucha presentations and a live DJ set. Meet and mingle with the exhibiting artists as they share their creative journeys, personal interests and some of the unexpected passions and talents that make our technical community so diverse. The evening also marks a return to the decks for our Facilities Coordinator, Greg Neave, who'll be joined by DJCAD MRes student David McLeish, a familiar name in Dundee's music scene through his long-running club night, Felt. This formidable duo will be taking turns behind the decks, serving up an eclectic mix of tunes throughout the evening.

The exhibition and events are free and open to all!
