Louise Forbes

Louise Forbes trained in Interior Design at DJCAD and leads her own design studio, Louise Forbes Design.

Louise has overseen the installation of all five Dundee Design Festivals and is excited to be leading the team again for the 2027 iteration. Louise has expertise in both design and fabrication and supports a range of projects around the city. She regularly works with @designdundee on a variety of UNESCO City of Design activities.

On top of that Louise also leads the install team for Scotland’s biggest design market Tea Green Events - she designed and made their sustainable pop-up display structures. In 2025 she lead the install of Craft Scotland's Harvest show, and is on the team for Harvest 2027 too! She delivers a popular series of spoon carving workshops and is in-demand as a workshop lead for clients like Guardswell Farm, the Chippendale Furniture School and the Scottish Craft School.

Recent projects include supplying bespoke timber elements for the hotel and the spa at Gleneagles and a special commission for Dundee Design Festival Bookends exhibiton.

Alongside @islayspalding Louise designs and makes sustainably sourced timber @pinsformen - wooden pins for your lapel, your kilt, or wherever you want to stick it.
