Robert Jackson

Robert Jackson is a Digital Making Specialist at DJCAD, teaching students how to use digital making technology within their art, design, and architecture practice. Specialising in laser cutting, CNC cutting, 3D printing and 3D scanning, he often works on research projects with colleagues across Dundee University and beyond.

Jackson studied Fine Art Printmaking at NCAD, Dublin and received his Masters in Fine Art from DJCAD. Prior to working at DJCAD, Jackson worked as technician and editions printer at DCA Print Studio, working on the production of unique DCA editions with artists including Martin Boyce, Ilana Halperin and Lucy Skaer.

Jackson maintains his art practice, focusing mainly on oil painting; frequently moving between large scale oil on canvas work and miniature paintings using oil paint on metal plates. He has exhibited his paintings at The National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin, The Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh and in 2026 held a large solo exhibition at The Waterford Gallery of Art.
