This guide explains the rules around which and how many modules you need to take to complete your degree.
Module availability varies each semester, so you should consider the best order to study optional modules before choosing. If you are unable to take modules in the recommended order, please contact your Teaching Support to discuss.
Archival Studies PGCert
You need to take modules that total 60 credits.
- 40 credits are core modules
- 20 credits are optional modules
Core modules
If possible - these should be taken in this order, before your optional module

- RM50001 - Archive Services, Access and Preservation
Optional modules
You need to take optional modules that total 20 credits.
Your optional modules can be:
- any module from the optional module lists below or
- RM50006 - Principles and Practice of Records Management
- RM50031 - The Theory and Context of Recordkeeping
Archives & Records Management PGCert
You need to take modules that total 60 credits.
- There are no optional modules for this course.

- RM50006 - Principles and Practice of Records Management
Archives & Records Management PGDip
You need to take modules that total 120 credits.
