Do you want to design apps, websites, and systems that are easy to use and enjoyable? At Dundee, you don’t just study user experience, you create it.

This degree gives you the skills to design, test, and improve the way people interact with technology. You will learn how to research users, design clear and engaging interfaces, and create products that meet real needs. You’ll take part in hands-on projects, work in teams, and use the same tools as professional designers. Your learning will be based on real problems, not just theory.

You will explore areas such as user research, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and usability testing. You’ll create prototypes, test them with real users, and learn how to turn feedback into better products.

As part of your course, you will have the opportunity to participate in an industrial placement that will occur prior to your final year of study. This placement will provide you with a unique chance to develop your career aspirations and gain first-hand experience working in the computing industry. You will have the opportunity to apply for competitive placement positions with both local and national industry partners. Throughout your placement, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and knowledge that will help you succeed in your future career.

Create with purpose

Design can shape the way people live, work, and communicate. At Dundee, you’ll create designs that improve lives. This could mean making apps more accessible, designing systems that help communities, or building tools that make tasks easier and more enjoyable. You’ll learn how to create technology that works for everyone.

Learn by doing

You will not spend years just studying theory. From your first day, you’ll work on projects that give you real experience. You’ll use industry tools for design, prototyping, and testing. You’ll work with other students to solve problems and create a portfolio that shows employers your skills and creativity.

Build your own path

Not every UX design degree is the same. At Dundee, you can shape your studies around the design work you enjoy most, whether that’s user research, visual design, or interaction design. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive community where people share your interests. In classes, labs, and group work, you’ll meet others who want to help you succeed.
