Undergraduate Law courses

Develop your legal skills and prepare for your future law career. You will learn and develop both legal and transferable skills such as the ability to understand and analyse complex materials, and present persuasive arguments orally and in writing.

Undergraduate LLB courses

We offer qualifying degrees in Scots law and in English, Welsh and Northern Irish law. You can study a dual qualifying degree in both Scots and English law, allowing you to train as a lawyer in any part of the UK. Our English Law LLB is attractive to international applicants as a qualifying Common Law degree.

We have designed our LLBs to be very flexible. If you start on the Scots Law LLB, you can easily switch to Dual Qualifying. If you take the English Law LLB, there is an opportunity to stay an extra year to pick up Scots subjects to qualify in Scotland. Watch our YouTube video about studying a 3 year English Law LLB.

The LLB with Languages offers the opportunity to study Scots or English Law with French or Spanish. We encourage overseas exchanges and have links with many European universities.

We also offer our LLB Law with Energy Law. You will spend your final year of undergraduate study developing a detailed knowledge and expertise in this key commercial field. It is possible to combine Scots law with another subject such as History or Politics and obtain a joint honours LLB.

Whichever LLB you study, you will be able to choose from a range of commercial, vocational and theoretical subjects to suit your interests and future career plans.
