Pal-Mx - Evaluating Palliative Care Models for Neurodegenerative Conditions: Global Insights for Mexico

Older adults living with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s face significant challenges in accessing timely, appropriate and culturally sensitive palliative care in Mexico.

Although national policies supporting palliative care exist, services remain unevenly distributed, are often misunderstood, and are not routinely offered to people with chronic non-cancer conditions.

Funded by the British Academy, our project seeks to address these gaps by identifying what works in global palliative care models and co-creating recommendations for adapting them to the Mexican context. Our goal is to support earlier, holistic and equitable palliative care for older adults with neurodegenerative conditions and their families.
