The Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science has developed a range of forensic science activities for students of a variety of ages since its founding. We have consolidated all these activities in a format that will allow anyone to carry out these activities at home or at school using commonly available items.

You can find links to all our resources on this page including information on the appropriate age range for these activities.

Operation Raptor Rescue (Age range: 10+ years old)

Challenge students to analyse a range of forensic evidence to aid in solving a fictional wildlife crime. The forensic science in this activity includes: GPS tracking, fingerprints, crime scene analysis and applying maths to analyse databases and crack codes. This set of activities were designed with funding from Maths Week Scotland.
