This specialist certificate in medical education is designed by experts in simulation for educators using simulation in their teaching. It will help you analyse everyday teaching and learning opportunities, and will enhance your knowledge and skills as a trainer.

Medical education is at the core of healthcare provision the world over. Ensuring the future workforce is prepared to meet the challenges of modern healthcare means we need experts in medical education to help shape practice.

At the Centre for Medical Education, founded over 40 years ago by Professor Ronald Harden OBE, we help medical educators reach their goals, and ensure they're prepared to train the workforce of the future.

Our wide-ranging curriculum fits around you and your working life, whether you're new to teaching and training, or wish to advance existing skills and knowledge.

You'll start with two core modules - Learning & Teaching in Medical Education and Principles of Assessment in Medical Education. These will give you a strong overview of core concepts.

A specialist module in simulation will then develop and consolidate your understanding and interpretation of simulation to promote and support its application in healthcare education and practice.

Although the majority of this course can be studied via distance learning, there is a face-to-face element that requires attendance in Dundee, Scotland.

Following this certificate, you could progress to our PGDip or Masters to further your learning.
