Disability support for prospective students and applicants

On this page

Prospective students and applicants with disabilities are encouraged to contact Disability Services as early as possible to find out more about the support available for disabled students at the University and to speak to a Disability Adviser in confidence. You can do this before applying or beginning your course.

We can provide information over the phone, by email and via MS Teams. For example:

We can also arrange a meeting with a Disability Adviser to discuss your support needs. For example:

  • Any adaptations you may need to University residences if you plan to live on campus.
  • Adjustments to teaching and assessment e.g. the provision of additional time in exams.
  • Non-Medical Personal Help, for example, a note-taker or sign language interpreter to support you in class.
  • Alternative formats of reading material - provided through our Alternative Formats Service.
  • Possible funding support through the Disabled Students' Allowance.

Contact us to speak to a Disability Adviser for further information to support your specific needs.
