This degree will provide you with the skills necessary to apply for careers such as Product Designer, Industrial Designer, Design Engineer, Design Researcher, Experience Designer, Product Manager, Exhibition Designer and Creative Technologist.
Recent employers include the BBC, Dyson, Google, Lego, Microsoft, Mountain Equipment, Superflux and Unilever.
Our graduates have gone on to have successful careers in a diverse range of sectors and organisations, in fields including:

- Medical products
- Automotive industry
- Service and experience design
- Independent consultancies in the UK and abroad
- Teaching (Primary & Secondary School, Further Education and Higher Education)
Many students also set up their own businesses and studios in areas such as sports equipment, consumer goods and consultancies. In the last few years, several graduates from the programme have taken a business idea further through the Universities Centre for Entrepreneurship’s Accelerator programme. In the previous 6 years, 11 students from the Product Design programme have won a combined £23,000 of funding towards developing their ideas in the Venture Awards.
We have a close relationship with our one-year taught postgraduate Product Design MSc course that many of our students go on to study after graduating from the programme.
