Policy and Planning Unit
The Strategic Intelligence Units leads on all things relating to data and information, the Policy and Planning Unit focuses more on processes and policy
We work on processes and policy, including projects of strategic importance to the University and working in close partnership with Finance on the annual planning and budgeting process and on our resource allocation model.
We also work with other agencies, for example the Scottish Government, the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), and the Office for Students (England), to improve policy and its implementation. For example, the Policy and Planning Unit leads on the Outcome Agreement process for the University, drafting agreements and liaising with the SFC through the negotiation and monitoring of agreements. More broadly we also lead on drafting institutional responses to consultations.
