The Business Intelligence team analyses and presents a wide range of information relating to the University strategic framework, the student journey from applicant to graduation and university staffing
We strive to be the trusted partner of University colleagues in the delivery of valuable insight and analysis, all underpinned by trustworthy, accurate and robust data. To deliver this, we pool the deep specialism and expertise within the team.
Our Statutory Returns specialists are subject matter experts in the business systems and data that drive staff and student journeys. This allows them to deliver a broad range of student and staff reporting and enables them to project manage and execute the delivery of accurate data to our Statutory customers, such as the Scottish Funding Council.
This work is hugely important as it helps inform funding allocations and national policy, as well as influencing reputational performance in league tables. As such, the data has to be of the best quality, and we work with colleagues across the University to constantly drive the integrity and accuracy of data on which important decisions are made.
Our insight and analysis specialists have a deep understanding of league table methodologies and student surveys, and the role statutory data plays in their compilation. We work in partnership with schools and directorates to develop and share insight on past performance, but also suggest improvement opportunities to enhance future performance and reputation.
We are constantly exploring innovative ways of producing value-added insight that can be used for strategic and operational decision-making.
