New postgraduate courses appoint programme leads

Programme leads have been appointed for two new taught postgraduate courses that will commence in the autumn.

Professor Ulrich Zachariae is the Lead for the MSc Biological Data Science, a course jointly run with the School of Science and Engineering. Erin Hardee and Dr Laureano de la Vega will lead the MSc Science and Health Communications, a course run jointly with the School of Medicine. This course was conceived and designed with the medical communications company AMICULUM.
Both courses are aimed at providing students with knowledge and skills to join growing international workforces within their respective fields. Biological data science is an area of ever-increasing importance in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries while world-leading companies in the science and healthcare communication industries are requiring multiskilled graduates.
Dr Joost Zomerdijk, Programme Lead for MSc Biomedical and Molecular Sciences programmes, said, “Building on our expertise, it is fantastic to have two new interdisciplinary MSc programmes added to our Taught Postgraduate portfolio. I am confident that under the leadership of Ulrich, Erin and Laureano these programmes will enhance our excellence in research and teaching and prepare students for much in demand key roles in academia and industry.”
