Professor Arpit Jariwala (Director of the University Department of Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery - UDOTS) and Professor Abhay Elhence (Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur) organised and chaired a full-day symposium.

This 3rd annual event was attended by over 80 delegates from across the globe and was once again held online with remote live lectures from an internationally renowned teaching faculty. Consultants, MCh (Orth) students, postgraduate medical students, trainees, physiotherapists, and allied healthcare workers attended talks on tips and tricks and current concepts on pelvic and acetabular fractures and surgical techniques. This year saw learned faculty from the Philippines and Egypt join our UK and India specialist to share their experience.

Hosting the symposium is a continuing coup for the School of Medicine as it is the only such event in Scotland. It has been running successfully in Dundee for the last few years and reaches new heights every year with next year’s event hopefully being held in person in Dundee.

The highlight of the symposium was the interactive nature of the event with Live Polls and discussion with the learned faculty which included the Past President of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) India, Professor Ramesh Sen, President of the Association of Pelvic and Acetabular Society (AOPAS) India, Dr Rakesh Rajput and experienced faculty from the UK and Egypt.
