Access Summer School
Join us on campus where you will study and prepare to begin your undergraduate degree

When you apply to us there may be parts of your application that meet the conditions of our Contextual admissions policy. If this is the case your offer may include an invitation to our Access Summer School.
As your offer is unique to you ensure that you are aware of all the conditions that it contains.
This course is designed as an alternative route to entry to your degree course. It is also intended to give you the best possible preparation for being a student. You will be supported throughout the four and a half weeks you will study with us by our dedicated team. You will have access to various resources that will allow you to enhance your learning. This will ease your transition to the first year of your undergraduate degree.
If invited, you need to accept your offer for this course by Sunday 8 June 2025.
The course will run from Wednesday 25 June until Friday 25 July 2025.
Preparing for the course
You will study on campus for the duration of the course and attend your classes in person. Depending on the course you have applied to study you may have the option to choose which modules you study.
Your timetable has been designed to match the level of contact time that you will have once you start your first year of undergraduate study. You will be expected to attend your scheduled classes on campus everyday.
Summer School is an intensive course. Past experience shows that students who fail to engage with and attend their modules find it significantly more difficult to meet the conditions of their offer.
The expectation is for you to fully engage and attend all timetabled classes. Planned absences (for holidays, family events, graduations etc.) may not be taken into account by the Exam Board as mitigating circumstances, should you fail to achieve the results required of you.
We also advise against students taking up employment that will prevent you from fully engaging with the course.
Bookable 1:1 sessions
If you have any questions about the course, or the offer you have received for Summer School, you can book a 1:1 session (10 minutes) to discuss with a member of the team.
To book one of these sessions, you can email the team on [email protected], or click the link sent in your Next Steps email.
Student Services
During Access Summer School, you will be considered to be like any other University of Dundee student. You will have full access to all university support services including:
- Disability Services
- Academic support
- Sports facilities
If you have received an invitation to Access Summer School, consider yourself to have a disability or have previously had additional support in place at school/college, it is important that any additional support you may require is in place for when you start the course. Once you have accepted your place at Summer School, we will send you a form to complete to begin this process.
Resources
We recommend using a laptop or computer to complete your work for Summer School. The software used during Summer School is most compatible with these devices and may not be suitable for use on a phone or tablet.
If you have your own laptop, please make sure you bring this to campus with you. If you accept your offer and you do not have access to a suitable device, please get in touch with the team by emailing [email protected].
All other learning materials are provided as part of the course or on the learning platform.
