When you apply to us there may be parts of your application that meet the conditions of our Contextual admissions policy. If this is the case your offer will include an invitation to our Access Summer School.

As your offer is unique to you ensure that you are aware of all the conditions that it contains.

This course is designed to give you the best possible preparation for being a student. You will be supported throughout the four and a half weeks you will study with us by our dedicated team. You will have access to various resources that will allow you to enhance your learning. This will also ease your transition to the first year of your undergraduate degree.

You will study on campus for the duration of the course and attend your classes in person. Depending on the course you have applied to study you will have the option to choose which modules you study.

If invited, you need to accept your offer for this course by Friday 7 June 2024.

The course will run from Wednesday 26 June until Friday 26 July 2024.

We are holding four Information Evenings to give you the opportunity to find out more about Summer School 2024 and ask us any questions you might have.

  • Dundee, Tuesday 26 March 2024
  • Online, Monday 22 April 2024

Applicants who receive an offer for Summer School will be sent an invitation by email to sign up to one of these events.

Student Services

If you are holding an offer for Access Summer School and require any disability adjustments during the course or during examinations, please contact Disability Services to allow us to support you. We would encourage you to register with Disability Services as soon as possible to ensure individual support arrangements can be made in time before summer school starts.

During Access Summer School, you will be considered to be like any other University of Dundee student. You will have full access to all university support services including:

  • Disability services
  • Counselling
  • Student funding
  • Academic support
  • Sports facilities

Accommodation

You may be eligible for fully funded accommodation.

Due to refurbishments, accommodation availability will be significantly restricted therefore priority will be given to those with a compulsory on campus offer.

More information about how to apply will be emailed to eligible applicants after Monday 27 May.
 

Financial support

Access Summer School is free to attend. For those studying three modules on campus, you may be eligible for a weekly bursary.

You must have firmly accepted your UCAS offer to be eligible. You will be paid weekly following a full week of you attending and engaging in all of your modules.

The amount to be paid in 2024 will be £20 per module, per week (up to a maximum of £80 per week).

Payments are made following a week of attending and engaging in your modules.

The first payment will be made Friday 12 July and subsequent payments will be paid each Friday.

Full details of how to apply will be sent to eligible offer-holders by the end of May.
