What we are doing

We are exploring the interaction between legal frameworks, the legal system and new digital technologies, in areas such as evidence, crime investigation and human rights.

Why we are doing it

New digital technologies including automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithms are increasingly used at all points in the legal and criminal processes. We want to ensure that such uses are legal, ethical and accurate to ensure justice is served and human rights and civil liberties are upheld.

How we will do it

We work in partnership with a range of organisations and individuals to ensure digital technologies are better implemented and used throughout the legal system.
