This Law PGCert allows you to design your own postgraduate course according to your interests and needs. You will choose three modules from our wide range of options. You will study this course full-time for 5 months. Alternatively, the course can be studied part-time as a one-year degree. This flexibility allows you to combine your postgraduate studies with other commitments. Our Law PGCert offers a wide variety of law modules in different specialist areas. There may be options in:
- competition law
- international dispute resolution
- intellectual property law
- corporate & insolvency law
- digital evidence
- environmental law
- climate change law
- water law
- human rights law and corporate responsibility
- private international law
- privacy, cyber security and surveillance
In addition to specialist modules delivered by our staff, there are further options in oil and gas or energy law. These are offered by the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy. You will choose to specialise or to combine topics from different legal areas. For example, you could combine an understanding of corporate and commercial law with environmental law or human rights law. The wide choice of modules allows you to either develop and deepen existing areas of specialisation or broaden your knowledge and explore areas of law that you have not studied or practised before.
You will also develop your skills in critical thinking and writing. As a University of Dundee student, you will have access to our Main Library and to the Law Library within it. This will provide you with a great studying space and our library staff are always happy to support you with your research needs.
Our Academic Skills Centre offers additional support with general academic skills. This may include academic writing or revision techniques.
We have an excellent staff-student ratio. Our postgraduate seminars are often delivered in small classes. This allows for higher quality discussions and will greatly enhance your learning experience.
