Yaseen Sharif

Yaseen Umar Sharif holds a MEng in Civil Engineering Design and Management from the University of Dundee graduating with a first-class Honours degree in July 2017. Yaseen joined the Civil Engineering research team in September 2017 to pursue a EPSRC NPIF funded PhD in geotechnical engineering in collaboration with Roger Bullivant Ltd. His research focuses on the further development of screw piles for use as silent foundations in offshore renewable energy application, using both the numerical discrete element method and physical geotechnical centrifuge experimentation. These foundations are proposed as an eco-friendly alternative to current offshore foundations options, due to their silent installation method which does not harm marine mammals.
