Biography
Tara Harper is a Lecturer in Education in the School of Education and Social Work.
She began her career as a secondary mathematics teacher in the Borders in 1992 and has also taught mathematics in Fife and Clackmannanshire. After a period of time working as a Mathematics Development Officer in Clackmannanshire, she re-trained as a primary teacher and has taught in the primary sector ever since. She has had a variety of roles including Class Teacher, Principal Teacher, Depute Head Teacher and latterly Head Teacher in Perth and Kinross. She joined the University as a permanent member of staff in February 2015, teaching mathematics education on the primary and secondary teacher education programmes and leadership on the Into Headship Masters programme.
Tara completed her Masters in Professional Enquiry: School Leadership and Management in 2013, and is currently undertaking a second Masters in Mathematics Education.
